Crustaceans fried in the sun. Tens of thousands of literally cooked oysters, starfish, snails and mussels have been found on a Vancouver beach. This is the result of a record heat wave that swept a few days ago, among others, through the western part of Canada and the USA. The animals on the beach were cooking themselves live as they lay on the beach in full sun without water. When opened, it looked ready to eat. The case was published by marine biologist Chris Harley of the University of British Columbia, who discovered it by chance. The expert said as many as a billion marine animals may have died in the recent heat wave along the coast of the Salish Sea. Crustaceans are absolutely essential here, incl. They filter and purify the water. A similar heat wave killed, among other things, shellfish in 2019 off the coast of California.

SagittariusWhat oysters? Oysters and snails are mollusks! Starfish echinoderms! The article writer should be looking for a job in urban green areas or digging trenches…
