The new week started in the north still wintry cold and partly damp. A few more incidents were reported in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Lower Saxony on Monday morning. It just gets milder slowly.

Towards the end of the week, according to forecasts by the German Weather Service (DWD), temperatures in southern Lower Saxony will rise to about ten degrees Celsius. However, in large parts of northern Germany, it will still be noticeably colder in the coming days.

Rain, snow or snow showers are likely on Tuesday in Hamburg, Schleswig-Holstein, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and parts of Lower Saxony. However, it is likely that there will be only minus degrees at night until Tuesday – in some areas, for example in Schleswig-Holstein in the area around Bad Siegburg or in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in the Ocker-Randau district.

When the snow turned into rain, there was a risk of icing from time to time. Several incidents occurred in the Göttingen region between Sunday evening and Monday morning.
