Netflix started blocking VPN providers as early as 2014. Recently, the service has been blocking home IP addresses associated with certain VPN providers, such as WeVPN. “The blocked addresses include, among other things, the addresses of hundreds of providers such as AT&T, Comcast or Verizon,” the newspaper writes.
Netflix prevents customers from bypassing restrictions
This should cause a problem for many people who do not use a VPN. “It is quite surprising that they discovered that in their case Netflix is limited to the company’s original products only. Others are completely denied access and receive a notification that the VPN is down.”
Netflix advises on social media how to fix the issue “If you disable proxy servers or VPN but you still see this message, contact your ISP. They will be able to determine why your IP address is associated with a proxy or VPN” – he wrote on Twitter.
