There have been rumors for some time about GSC Game World using Epic Games’ latest technology to create STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl, and now we can confirm this information. The developers are officially working on Unreal Engine 5.

STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl joins games such as Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2, Dragon Quest 12: The Flames of Fate, Gears 6 and The Outer Worlds 2, which were built using the latest Epic Games technology. This is very important and interesting news, as there are many indications that it will be the first major title to debut next year and will take advantage of the capabilities of the Unreal Engine 5.

The studio responded to Epic Games, which presented more than 80 productions powered by the Unreal Engine – there are many interesting games on the list, but a significant part of the projects are still under UE4.
