Reuters reported, that satellite images published by the American company Maxar Technologies, Thursday, show Russian-flagged ships transporting grain harvested in Ukraine to Syria last season.

Photos of Maksar showed two Russian-flagged bulk carriers docking in May in the Russian-controlled port of Sevastopol in Crimea.

A few days later, Maxar’s satellites recorded the same ships anchored in Syria, with hatches open and carriages ready to remove the grain.

Ukraine, one of the world’s largest grain exporters, accused Russia of stealing grain from lands occupied by Russian forces since the invasion began in late February. Western countries have accused Russia of provoking a global food crisis by closing Ukrainian ports on the Black Sea.

On June 8, the deputy head of the Ukrainian Union of Agricultural Producers (UAC) said that Russia had looted about 600,000 tons of grain from the occupied territories and exported some of it.
