There has been talk of Metal Gear Solid for many years at this point, ever since Konami announced in 2012 that it would be created by Sony Pictures and produced by Avi Arad. Vogt-Roberts appeared on Animal talk show Over the summer, saying he was already hoping for filming but Covid-19 was causing disruptions. “Covid has kind of changed everything and we’re finding out a bunch of things,” he said in July. “I’ve been working on this thing for six years, trying to make it so annoying, rocky, real for Metal Gear, true to Kojima-san’s soul version of what this is. I’ll keep fighting for it every day.” Roberts has also talked about his history as a Metal Gear fan, and it looks like he’s not the only one.
