Potter addresses White Liverpool links

Brighton president Graham Potter has been talking about rumors linking White and Liverpool.

White signed a new deal upon his return to Brighton in the summer, after spending the last season on loan at Leeds United.

Liverpool have explored the Brighton defender for the past 12 months or so, but decided not to take a step for him during the summer transfer window.

In recent reports, Potter said:

“I think it’s a bit like at the start of the season. All kinds of talk about him doing that, and he’s doing it, and it’s being created from the outside, really out of our control.

“It’s part of the football hype. The transfer window was closed last week and we are already having talks about transfer speculation. It’s just the way it is.”

“I know he is moderate enough not to let him influence him. I think at this level you should know that it is part of the territory.

“It is part of the job of being a soccer player, while it is part of what you have to deal with. All he constantly does is watch football.

“He got into training, tried to be a professional, tried his best, tried to play football. I have no worries about Ben.”

Before Potter added:

“I haven’t heard anything about it. Apparently if it happened in the media, it must be true, eh?”
