SUMMERTIME is the perfect time to brush up on your bronzing skills to create a natural healthy glow.

Everyone can benefit from radiance-boosting products, even if you’re not going for a full-on tanned look.

Porcelain skins look amazing with a creamy highlighting sheen and clever shading finished with a pop of peach blush while even the darkest skin can be transformed with a little self tanning product!

I use this tip on black skin models and clients and the tanning agents make the skin look totally luminous, bright and glowy!

For a perfect summer base, apply your usual foundation or tinted moisturiser, first warming it between the palms of your hands and massaging it onto your skin like a moisturiser. I picked this technique up in Paris and it gives a beautiful finish.

If you’re stuck for what colour to choose, fair skins can happily use a lighter beige based shade of bronzer accompanied by a soft peach blush – think Nicole Kidman.

Medium skins can go for terracotta based shades with a pink blush – think Kim Kardashian.

While dark skin will look amazing with a reddish based bronzer and brick red blush – think Tyra Banks.

The secret to applying is to mimic how the sun hits your face naturally and for the best look use a matt bronzer then add a light reflecting product onto areas you want to accentuate.

Use a fairly large brush and twist it in the bronzer to get a ring of colour on the outside only, allowing you to build up the colour gradually. Sweep under cheekbones and into temples, blending lightly along the hairline before adding shimmery powder on top of cheekbones, down the centre of the nose, arch of your eyebrow and on the cupid’s bow of your top lip.

Finish with a pop of colour on the apples of your cheeks, a swish of mascara and a bright gloss shade on the lips and you’re ready to go. Who needs Miami when you can cheat your way to being a bronzed beauty!
