Walerij Załużny was born in 1973 in Nowogród Wołyński. He graduated from the Odessa Institute of Land Forces and the National Defense University in Kiev, after which he went to all levels of military service. Zayouni holds a master’s degree in international relations. One of his first decisions as Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces was to allow soldiers to return fire on enemy fire without obtaining the approval of the Supreme Command. Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant-General Yevvin Mogysyuk

Mogysyuk was born in 1979 in Chernivtsi, graduated from the air department of the Odessa Institute of Ground Forces and the Kiev National Defense University. He has gained professional experience, incl. Commander of the Ukrainian contingent in Kosovo. He assumed the position of Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in August 2021.

Szaptala was born in 1973 in Konstantinovka. He graduated from the Odessa Institute of Land Forces and the National Defense University in Kiev. He directly participated in the battles of Debaltseve in 2015. He was the first deputy commander of the operations of the “South” in 2020, appointed commander of the command of operations of the “West”. From July 28, 2021, he is the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
