Some goalkeepers can stay on top after their 40th birthday, and at just 28 years old, Liverpool number one Alison hopes he will have many more years ahead.

101 Great Goals To quote the Brazilian international player to Globo Esporte:

“I have never gone out to make many long-term plans.

“Of course, I had dreams, but always with my feet on the ground and very focused on what is in my hand, and what I can do right now in the present.

“Set a goal, but make things happen in the moment, knowing that the future depends on the present.

“I have plans to pursue a long career in football and play as much as I can at a high level.

“Now if it’s 35 or 40 or more than 40 I don’t know, I have a lot of ways there.

“I hope to do my best while in the national team and in Europe.

“I have the desire to go back to Brazil, but when that happens, no one knows but God.

“We are planning, but I know for sure that God has something ready for me in the future, but I am living in the present.

“I know God has something for me, I want to follow God’s plans in my life, but my heart’s desire when I go back to Brazil, if God goes to his service, is to return to Inter (the club in Porto Alegre where he started his career), home, the club I love.”
