The Ministry of Education and Science and PKP Intercity encourage schools to use rail transport during organized trips as part of the second edition of the Get to Know Poland programme. PKP Intercity has prepared a special offer for group travel, which allows to reduce travel costs by up to 20 percent.

– “Know Poland” is entering the implementation phase. Tours will begin on April 1. We calculate that approximately 300 thousand children and adolescents will take a trip around Poland to get acquainted with it thanks to the program of the Minister of Education and Science – said the head of MEiN during a press conference. Minister Przemyslaw Czarnik emphasized that the project enables young people to learn about places related to our culture, history, science and traditions: – all this is to admire and cherish Poland – he indicated.

Minister Przemyslaw Czarnik encouraged schools to use organized excursions as part of the “Know Poland” program, and emphasized that it is a safe mode of transportation: move safely throughout Poland – said the head of MEiN. – We already know that schools are very interested in this offer – he added.

PKP Intercity Offer for Schools

PKP Intercity has prepared a special group travel offer for schools. This is an offer for those traveling with at least 11 people. Thanks to that, tickets from Monday to Thursday and Saturday will be 20 percent off. Cheaper. In contrast, on Fridays and Sundays, PKP Intercity offers 15 percent. Discount on regular prices. In addition, for every 20 people who use the flight, there is one free ticket, eg for a parent.

The travel application is submitted in a group via the subpage Transit. This can be done 90 days before the flight. The number of seats available in the offer is limited, so it is worth ordering a group flight as soon as possible. This can be done no later than 14 days before the planned departure date. PKP Intercity considers requests for group tours with a maximum of 5 working days.

On all intercity PKP trains, people with legal discounts use their individual rights. Thanks to this, they will pay less for tickets. Primary and secondary school students are covered with a 37% discount for travel on intercity PKP trains.

Get to know Poland in 2022.

In the first half of 2022, the Ministry of Education and Science will allocate 51 million PLN for the “Know Poland” project. School authorities may apply for funding in the amount of 80%. The cost of the trip, including travel costs. The funds will be divided into the Voivodeship in proportion to the number of students in a particular county.
