The Amica Cup, a women’s volleyball tournament, will be held for the 16th time from September 10-12, 2021. In the “Wacław” hall in Szamotuły you will meet the players of the four leading Polish and German women’s teams. The Amica Group once again became the main sponsor of the event.

After a break caused by the coronavirus pandemic, the prestigious Amica Women’s Cup volleyball tournament returns to Szamotuły. Volleyball players from four recognized clubs will compete for the trophy this year: Grupa Azoty Chemik Police, DevelopRes Rzeszów, SC Potsdam and Dresdner SC.

There will be four teams preparing to compete in the European Cups. Each of them will have players who participated in the European Championship a few days ago. The competition will be followed by the coach of the Polish national team, Jacek Nauruki, as from this season he will lead the Chimeca Police, as well as former coach Stefan Antiga, who is currently coaching the DevelopRes team Rzeszów. I also think it’s worth coming or going to such a tournament given the fact that after the pandemic we are all thirsty for sporting events at the highest level, and that’s what the Amica Cup in Szamotuły looks like. – says event organizer, Ryszard Frąckowiak.

The organizers encourage volleyball fans to watch the tournament live. Entry to all matches is a nominal cost of PLN 10, children and teenagers under 16 years old enter for free. The money obtained from the sale of tickets will be donated to the Social Society for Children and Youth with Special Needs. The matches will also be broadcast on YouTube Wielkopolska volleyball.

Three days of good sporting emotions await us, because on the field we will meet talented players who are achieving great successes in the league and cup with their clubs. For us, it is a unique event as well as it fits with the close values of the Amica Group. On the one hand, we encourage sports and healthy competition, on the other hand, we show strong women and their successes. This way of thinking about the brand is also close to us in other markets, which is why this year we signed sponsorship agreements for our Fagor brand with two of the best women’s football clubs: Atletico Madrid and Olympique Lyonnais. – confirms Maciej Krzysztofoszek, Director of External Communications at Amica Group.

On Friday 10 September there will be two matches at 16:00: Dresdner SC – SC Potsdam, then Grupa Azoty Chemik Police – DevelopRes Rzeszów. On this day, the official opening ceremony of the tournament will be held. There will be two consecutive meetings on Saturday and Sunday. In total, you will play six matches throughout the tournament.

Grupa Azoty Chemik Police is currently the Polish Cup champion, and DevelopRes Rzeszów volleyball players are the leaders of the Polish Volleyball League after last season. German teams can also boast of successes: the players of Dresdner SC are the leaders of the Bundesliga, and SC Potsdam has been in the lead for years. A team from Dresden won the last Amica Cup in 2019, ahead of Chemik Police.
