The second edition of the WTA Championships began in Bad Homburg. Daria Kasatkina (WTA 12) entered the competition with number one. Initially shattered Andrea Petkovic 6:1, 6:2 (WTA 59). At 67 minutes, Roland Garros, who reached the semi-finals this year, missed two of the three break points and used six of the 11 breakout opportunities. Tamara Zidancic (WTA 58) beat Julia Hasioca (WTA 214) 2:6, 6:1, 6:4. In 1 hour 42 minutes, there were 13 breaks, seven of which were scored by the Slovenian. Ann Lee (WTA 66) beat Anna Bondar (WTA 62) 7-6 (1), 4-6, 6-1 after two hours and eight minutes. The American returned an order once and used two of the eight break points.
