Sir Alex Ferguson and Jose Mourinho didn’t always agree on everything when it came down to it Manchester United.
But it seems Paul Pogba, and the influence of his agent Mino Raiola, is something the two former Red Devils managers certainly agree on.
Raiola upset everyone on the red side of Manchester with his surprise update Monday night – the eve of United’s Champions League match with RB Leipzig.
The super agent announced that Pogba is unhappy at United, that his time at the club is over and he is likely to sign Juventus, Perhaps as early as January.
The announcement and its timing were widely criticized.

But this isn’t the first time an agent has been accused of disrespecting him Manchester United, It is not the first time that Raiola has put Pogba in an awkward position.
All the way back in 2012, when Pogba was young at United, Raiola orchestrated the French player’s move to the Juventus.
Then this President Ferguson said about it at the time.
Pogba signed Juventus Long ago to our knowledge.
“It’s a little frustrating because I don’t think he showed us any respect at all. Honestly, if they keep going down this path, I’m so glad he’s far from me anyway.”
In his groundbreaking 2015 book, Ferguson added: “There is a football agent or two that I don’t like, and Mino Raiola, Paul Pogba’s agent, is one of them.
“I hadn’t trusted him from the moment I met him. He became Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s agent while he played for Ajax, and eventually he would end up acting as Pogba, who was only 18 years old at the time.
“We had Paul on a three-year contract, and he had a one-year renewal option that we were excited to sign. But Raiola suddenly appeared on the scene and our first meeting was a complete failure.
“He and I were like oil and water. Since then, our goose has been cooked because Raiola was able to communicate with Paul and his family and the player signed with Juventus.”
Mourinho took over as United manager in 2016 and re-signed Pogba from Juventus.
The Red Devils paid a club record 89 million pounds to bring the French player back home, but the transfer would be a big problem for Mourinho.
The Portuguese routinely clashed with Pogba, but, like Ferguson, they believed that the French’s entourage – specifically Raiola – was responsible for his behavior.
Mourinho spoke of Pogba again in 2018 after being given the captain’s armband first and then taking it again, after the French player had criticized his tactics in the press.
Mourinho made it clear that he would make all the decisions related to Pogba, not his agent. “The only truth is that I made Paul’s decision not to be the captain of the second team anymore. But there are no problems. There are no problems at all,” he said.
“ The same person who decided Paul was not second commander anymore is exactly the same person who decided Paul was the second leader, me.
“I am the manager, I can make these decisions, with no problems whatsoever, no problems whatsoever, just one decision that I don’t have to explain.”
Mourinho later explained: “Paul was not the deputy captain [Antonio] Valencia as captain then we have a group of players who can be deputy captain.
“One day I was given to David De Gea, Ashley Young, and Chris Smalling. I actually thought of Paul last season because a player of a different generation, a younger player and a future captain because Valencia, Young are almost the same age as the same generation.
“Paul was not the deputy captain. We do not have the deputy captain. It depends on the game, it depends on whether Valencia is playing. If Valencia is playing then he is the captain. If Valencia does not play then I will try to go in another direction.”
Two years later, Raiola’s latest Pogba problem is the current Red Devils coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to deal with.
Reports claim that the Norwegian is ready to ditch the Pogba company, freeing up his wages, which can be used for a player who wants to be in the club.
It looks like Pogba’s time at United has finally come to an end.
