Funimation has announced that the animated classic Robotech will begin this fall and will release a Blu-ray set containing all 85 episodes of the series on September 28.

The space opera anime saga, which is about people defending their primal world from space domination, was first shown in 1985 and consists of three episodes.

Each episode will be dubbed in English and will feature new and remastered versions of each episode in the original aspect ratio. The Blu-ray version also includes Dolby TrueHD audio.

Funimation also adds “Robotech II: The Sentinels” and “Robotech the Shadow Chronicles” in the standard definition. The series will be available through Funimation SVOD in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Peru and Chile.

For those who don’t want an over-elaborated collection of singles, the standard Blu-ray of the three epics will also be released this fall with “The Macross Saga” on September 28, “The Masters” on November 16 and “The New Generation” on December 14. .

All Blu-ray releases will be available exclusively in North America.
