The Polish diplomatic chief has been visiting Turkey since Thursday.

Rao told reporters that it was Blinken who was asked for an interview “primarily on the conduct and outcome of the Biden-Putin summit.” US President Joe Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin met in Geneva on Wednesday.

“Secretary Blinken told me that President Biden made it clear in an interview with President Putin that the United States will defend strategic stability in international relations and will stand firmly against actions that undermine that stability,” the State Department chief said. .

He added that Blinken said President Biden indicated that the United States “feels bound by its obligations under Article 5 of the Washington Treaty and will act unequivocally under this treaty if necessary.”

“I must say that I was built with this kind of presidency for the United States, because it is without a doubt a message President Putin should hear,” Rao said.

During his stay in Turkey, the head of the Polish Foreign Ministry will participate in the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, an international conference on global challenges for peace, security and development. It will be attended by 12 heads of state and 43 foreign ministers, as well as a group of representatives of international organizations, intellectual and academic circles and journalists – about 1,000 participants in total.
