AMD Radeon RX 6000 (RDNA 2) graphics cards have been a huge success and have gained huge popularity among gamers. However, we know that the manufacturer is already working on future generations – the Radeon RX 7000 (RDNA 3) and… Radeon RX 8000 (RDNA 4) models.

There are more and more leaks on the network about new AMD graphics cards, but so far the information was mainly about the Radeon RX 7000 models of the RDNA 3 generation. Recently we came across new rumors about the next series – the Radeon RX 8000 (RDNA) 4).

The first information about the Radeon RX 8000 graphics cards

New information about AMD cards has appeared on Twitter for user Greymon55 (who we have already leaked about the new equipment). If you believe the leaks, the next generation of cards will be based on the newer RDNA 4 architecture (most likely the Radeon RX 8000 models).

As in the case of the Radeon RX 7000 RDNA 3 models, the manufacturer will use graphics chips here using the MCM (Multi-chip Module) design. Greymon55 proposes that the modules will be produced in two layers of lithography – the GCD (Graphics Computing Die) core will be fabricated at 3 nm and the MCD (Multi-Cache/IO Die) in the 5 nm process.

It’s too early to get into specifics on the specs (and even less so on the performance results). However, we can doubt that the use of new architecture and less technological process will translate into improved efficiency and energy efficiency.

What is the premiere of the Radeon RX 8000 graphics cards?

It’s possible that the Radeon RX 8000 (RDNA 4) models are still in the early design stage, so we’ll have to wait a long time for the premiere – most likely not until 2023. Earlier next year, the Radeon RX 7000 models will be released ( RDNA 3) for the first time.
