Singer songwriter Natasha Haws follows up the release of her debut EP in May with her first single Stranger.
Following the release of her début EP in May, Natasha Haws’ first single, Stranger, will be released November 12th, 2012.
Now signed to Tiny Lights Recordings, Stranger marks a departure from her pure acoustic sound with more than a hint of early Bjork and beefy tribal drums throughout. The track will be available to download, as well as on limited edition physical CD.
Since beginning to write her own music one year ago, Natasha has gigged around the country and racked up support slots with acts such as The Futureheads, Stephen Fretwell, Lucy Rose, Willy Mason and Karima Francis (after only two performances). She has also been hand-picked for appearances at Split Festival, Evolution Emerging, and Willowman Festival this summer. A UK tour will follow the single release, beginning November and hitting cities the length of the country. Dates are listed below.
Stranger’s accompanying video will be unveiled in the coming weeks, produced by revered photographer Ian West, who has previously put his distinctive stamp on videos for Hyde and Beast, The Futureheads and The Lake Poets.
A launch night to celebrate the single’s release will be held at Newcastle’s prestigious Literary and Philosophical Society on November 9th. The gig will feature a rare performance by Sunderland singer-songwriter Lucas Renney, along with other special appearances.
The single will feature a bonus track, a cover of The Futureheads’ Heartbeat Song. Natasha duets on the track with the band’s front-man Barry Hyde, with strings courtesy by The Futureheads’ bassist Jaff.
