MEiN management meeting with representatives of the European Trade Union Committee on Education

Minister Przemyslav Czarnik and Deputy Minister Dariusz Piontkovsky met with representatives of the European Union Education Commission (ETUCE). The ceremony was also attended by representatives of the National Education Department and the National Science Department of NSZZ “Solidarność”. The topic of the talks was the education of children and youth of Ukraine.

During the meeting, the topic of cooperation between ETUCE and NSZZ “Solidarno” was raised. Representatives of the European Trade Union Committee for Education informed the Minister of Education and Science about their activities for refugees from Ukraine. They also presented the activities of the European Commission and educational unions from other countries to help students from Ukraine.

An important topic of general discussion was also the experiences, challenges and needs of educational staff in Poland.

European Trade Union Commission on Education (ETUCE)

The European Trade Union Commission for Education was established in 1977. It is a federation of 127 educational trade unions in 51 countries, representing a total of 11 million members across Europe. ETUCE is a social partner for teachers and other education professionals at European level and advocate for their interests towards the European Commission and other European institutions.

ETUCE is made up of national unions of teachers and other educational professionals at all levels. Member organizations include both countries of the European Union and countries outside the European Community.
