In line with the current state of research writing, written expression is defined as “a complex, self-directed process that involves high-level cognitive abilities such as creating, planning, organizing, translating and revising ideas in such a way as to yield a written text product that communicates meaning.”

At The Handwriting Collaborative, we are committed to providing educators with access to the research and resources necessary to improve the development of written expression for all students. With this goal in mind, we have brought together more than 30 leading international researchers in literacy education, psychology, neuroscience, occupational therapy, and other disciplines to share their latest work at the 2022 International Conference on the Analysis of Written Expression. on the science of written expression). The Virtual International Conference on the Scientific Analysis of Written Expression 2022 is three (3) days packed with presentations by more than thirty (30+) renowned international speakers from around the world. Handwriting Collaborative was founded in the fall of 2019 by CEO Kathleen Wright. Kathleen’s intention was to bring together a diverse team of school handwriting professionals, teachers, academics and occupational therapists in one place to dedicate themselves to helping children, parents, teachers and school administrators develop their handwriting skills. Our organization’s mission is to provide the professional training and counseling services needed to help teachers at all levels adapt their teaching and writing methods to the latest research findings.
