Famous Science – The competition is over!

Piotr Rzymski from the Medical University of Pozna won the prize in the Science Popularizer competition. The award is given for commitment and monumental work related to popularizing medical knowledge in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The competition is organized by the Polish News Agency in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science. Participating in this event was the Political Cabinet Chairman of the Minister in MEiN, Radosław Brzóska.

The jury appreciates Dr. Hap. Piotr Rzymski to explain the content of scientific publications about SARS-CoV-2 to the Poles and tirelessly educate the public on the issue. The laureate has written several dozen articles on this topic and has already made more than 700 statements to the media. He is one of the initiators of the “Science Against Epidemic” project.

The winner in the “Scientist” category was Dr. Anna Kosiak from the Institute of Geosciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Adam Zberit won the “Animation” award. In the “Team” category, the winner was 3LAB – the studio of the 3rd secondary school in Gdynia. The Promotion Center of the Silesian University of Technology in Glivići was awarded in the “Enterprise” category, and Dr. Lucas Lamia is in the “Media” category.

Prizes were also awarded: to the creators of the “Science” project. I love it ”and for Sports League creator Zdzisław Matowski.

The competition, organized since 2005, is awarded to scientists, media professionals, institutions and social activists whose passion is to share knowledge and reveal the secrets of modern science to people who have nothing to do with the academic community.
