The UK and Ireland have announced their intentions to host the 2028 European Championships, the football associations of England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and Ireland said in data. The deadline for submissions for event hosts expires on Wednesday.

Great Britain and Ireland were interested in organizing the 2030 World Cup, but after the analyses, they withdrew from submitting their candidacy. Instead, they want to host the Ancient Continent Tournament two years ago.

– In the coming months we will develop our proposals, based on the full UEFA technical specifications. “We will discuss with potential host cities and stadium managers to find optimal conditions for the tournament,” the five associations said in a joint statement.

The list of candidates for Euro 2028 organizers will be announced in April, with the selection of the host scheduled for September 2023.

The next edition of the European Championship will be held in 2024 in Germany.
