Britain’s longest-reigning king celebrates her birthday. Elizabeth II is 96 years old. But there will be no big celebration on that day.

Great Britain celebrates – on April 21, Queen Elizabeth II turned 96. However, this is not the end of the reasons to be happy. A big jubilee awaits the British in June – the 70th anniversary of the reign of the king.

And although the Queen’s birthday is an important day, today the people of Great Britain cannot count on the festivities. The Queen is not there, she is going to spend an important day in solitude. What’s going on?

The Queen celebrates her birthday

A new photo of the Queen appeared on the official account of the royal family on Instagram, Thursday. Elizabeth II stands on it with her beloved animals – horses Bybeck Nightingale and Bybeck Katie. She wears a green coat and there is no smile on her face (which is very normal).

The photo, taken last month in the grounds of Windsor Castle, is the fourth in a series of photos released by the Royal Windsor Horse Show, following the Golden Jubilee, Platinum Jubilee and Her Majesty’s 90th birthday photo.

– We read in the description of the photo.

The photo was taken a few weeks ago and is believed to contradict rumors of the Queen’s ill health. But does it really perform this function?

Is the queen sick?

Several weeks ago, there was talk of the Queen’s poor condition and serious movement problems. There have also been rumors that the King is insisting on meeting the rebellious grandson – Prince Harry – and his family because she feels these may be their last moments. Most importantly, in recent days, Harry has appeared with his wife and children in Great Britain.

Now, on her birthday, the Queen separates from her compatriots and departs for the countryside. He will spend his birthday on private estate of Sandringham in the east of England, and the only public celebration is saluting with a day cannon. However, such a modest celebration should not seem to be alarming. The Queen wants to spend her birthday as usual, in solitude, only with her loved ones. The official celebration – as every year – was postponed to June. And this year will bring them together with seventy years of his rule.
