The IAAF announced that the Diamond League Meetings Series for Athletics will start on May 23 in Gateshead, UK, and not as previously reported in Rabat, Morocco.

As the press release made clear, the English city is back on the calendar after a decade of hiatus. It will replace Rabat, as the restrictions imposed in North Africa related to the Coronavirus epidemic prevent such competitions from taking place.

The next Diamond League competition will take place on May 28 in Doha and June 10 in Florence.

Initially, the events in Rome (06/04) and Oslo (06/10) were planned for the beginning of June. Due to the European Football Championship, there will be no athletics competition in the Italian capital, but the best representatives of the Queen of Sports will compete in this country in Florence on June 10.

In contrast, the struggle in Oslo moved on to the first of July. This way, the athletes will be able to easily move to Stockholm – the competition on July 4.

The final match of the series is scheduled to take place on September 8 and 9 in Zurich.
