Anna Gardens was run in the building of the historic textile factory Karol Scheibler in ód. The architects from Studio Medusa Group designed a place with open access character that was envisioned as a contemporary interpretation of a new urban courtyard surrounded by historic buildings.

Its diversity aims to bring people together – this is the new face of the square in front of the Art Nouveau power plant at the historic Karol Scheibler textile factory in ód. As part of the industrial area revitalization project called Fuzja, part of the public space in front of the power plant, which was called Anna Gardens, was opened on Wednesday.

As explained by architect Prizimo Chukasek, co-founder of Medusa Group, Anna Gardens is a public space open to people. Cars were removed from it, hidden in underground garages. Today, the square is an area of green and conservation, and therefore biologically active and responsible.

Anna’s gardens were divided into two zones – mineral and vegetable. Vegetarianism focuses on green spaces, not those that are cut by mowers, but natural ones that give shade and keep rainwater in their structure for a long time. The metal strewn with the light broken stone allows rainwater to seep through, but also the soil to breathe, shaded by the trees that stack it.

– We provide this space for the elderly as well as for children and young people. We will provide a shade area and allow rest. We are freeing the yard from the classic floor, says Justyna Siwi, ska-Pszoniak, project manager at Studio Medusa Group, creating instead a surface from which nature breaks. Greenery coexists with the surroundings. – Our experience shows that such spaces are today a clear social need, which we respond to with our design – adds the architect.

We want residents – who are looking for access to different jobs in the integration area – to be able to find the fastest way to get to their destination. This is not just another city park, whose paths are trampled by the residents themselves, as if to the defiance of sidewalk designers. Here you will be able to sit under the trees, watch the children play, and even play bowling – explains Prizimo Chukasek.

Integration will unite us

– Fuzja is one of those places that created the history of Lodz, nourished the city and testified to its modernity. Fusion connects the past with the present, history with the present, and the old with the present. It also combines different activities and functions. This is one of the largest mixed-use projects that we are building with ECHO Investment in Poland – confirms Przemo Łukasik.

He argues that “Fuzja Connects” is not just a marketing slogan, but a functional and useful software designed with precision and awareness. Its main purpose is to connect people. Public spaces are recreated between historic buildings and structures, those under construction and during renovation. It is open to all those who will live here, decide to work, or who will come here to rest, use the services or see the industrial history of ód – enumerates the architect.

We will lead people through industrial corridors and alleys to public squares and squares. Today, a well-designed public space is the one that allows you to access necessary functions in a quick stroll. It is equally important to respect people and their environment – Prizimo Dukasik convinces.

The spacious yard power plant is the heart of Scheibler’s textile empire in Księży Młyn, which was a symbol of وودód power in the 19th century. In the complex revitalization project of the entire Vozja region, Medusa Group is also responsible for the renovation of the southern wall of the power plant and its interior design, which it wants to implement in the spirit of conservation.
